Gasoline Tanker flips over in Gurnee : A Gasoline Tanker flipped over after taking the exit ramp from I-94 onto westbound Rt. 132 to fast, ripping large holes in the tank and spilling a large amount of fuel. The Gurnee FD pulled a Haz-Mat MABAS Box which called for Tankers, manpower and bulk Foam. A special Haz-Mat removal team was called to the scene that specializes in removing fuel from tanker trucks. Once on the scene a Haz-Mat tech drilled four holes into the side of the tank so the fuel could be removed into an empty tanker truck that parked next to the wrecked semi. The whole process went perfectly and the semi was uprighted and the scene was cleaned up. Grand Ave (Rt. 132) was closed to all traffic until all units cleared the scene.
